How a Steele roof gets read

Ten feet by ten feet, and a stick of chalk.

Most hail damage can't be seen from the ground. So the inspector goes up, marks out a test square on the slope and rings every hit he finds. What happens next is their own five-part process, start to finish.

One test square: 10 ft x 10 ft of a single slope. Each ring is a hit.

  1. Request a free inspection

An inspector walks the roof, checks the attic when it tells him something, and photographs what he finds. It usually takes 30 minutes to an hour, you don't have to be home, and you get a written assessment afterwards either way.

“They came out the exact same day I called!” Bryan Allen, Google

  2. You file the claim

If the hits add up to real storm damage, you open the claim with your carrier. You are not required to collect three estimates first, and you can choose whichever contractor you want to do the work.

  3. Meet the adjuster to go over the scope

Your project manager is on the roof with the adjuster, pointing out every piece of claim-related damage. If a claim is denied, you can ask for a re-adjustment with the project manager there for that too.

Steele Roofing works for you, not for your insurance company.

  4. Recover the approved scope of work

Steele usually works from the same estimating software and pricing as your insurance company, so once the scope is authorized the work can be done per insurance proceeds. If tear-off uncovers more damage, a change order explains what changed and why.

  5. Get you your new roof

The crew installs the new system, inspects the finished roof, cleans the site and hands over the warranty paperwork. The check from your insurer may list your mortgage company too; your project manager walks you through endorsing it.

Service Before Self.

It's the tagline on their reviews page, and it's how the work gets done: a consultative, no-pressure visit, honest estimates, and nobody upselling you a product you don't need. When a storm comes through, the black truck with STORM on its side is theirs.

A local, family-owned company. They plan to be here long after the job is done.

Delaminated shingles, blown off. Same-day visit, repair and full-roof inspection.

“I reached out to Steele Roofing for a minor repair after some shingles delaminated and blew off. Knowing they are one of the top RCAT-licensed companies in the Tyler area, I expected good service, but I was blown away when they came out the exact same day I called! Carter arrived promptly, was incredibly helpful, and completed the repairs quickly. He even performed a thorough, full-roof inspection while onsite. I will absolutely use them for any future roofing needs and highly recommend them to my friends and neighbors.”

Repair, explained start to finish by Carter Fields.

“Excellent experience from start to finish. Carter Fields was professional, thorough, and took the time to explain everything clearly. The repair work was completed quickly and with great attention to detail, and the price was very reasonable. It's hard to find this level of quality and honesty these days.”

Leaking metal roof from another installer: closures never installed. Fixed within a week.

“I had new metal roof installed 4 years ago by a different roofing company and recently noticed a leak. I called Steele Roofing company, Carter came out quickly and advised the that during the roof install roof closures were not installed and that was causing the leak. Received the estimate the same day and had the roof fixed within a week. I would highly recommend this company. Good people to deal with.”

Typically 30 minutes to an hour. It depends on the size and pitch of the roof and how many dormers or design elements it has.

No. The roof can be assessed from the exterior, and you get detailed notes and photos afterwards.

In most cases, yes. A thorough inspection means walking the roof, after first checking the material is safe to walk on. The attic is often included too, because it shows leaks, moisture damage and poor ventilation.

No. You are not required to get three estimates, and you can choose whichever contractor you want. Steele Roofing gives your insurance company its damage assessment and answers their questions about the recommended repairs.
